Integrated Addition

The Integrated Addition in Mantoloking, NJ gave us the opportunity to add new living space onto the rear portion of an existing home. We added a large bedroom with high, wood-lined ceilings. Off the bedroom is a balcony that overlooks the backyard pool, making it perfect for keeping an eye on backyard activities. The addition also features a bathroom with inlaid marble tile detailing.

This project was a particularly fun one because we worked hard to make sure it blended in with the existing house. The challenge of any addition is to design it so that it does not stick out as an obvious addition. In this case, we made sure the proportions of the addition didn’t overwhelm the original house, that the peak of the roofline matched, and that the windows were the same style and overall sizes as the originals.
